Scales Lexicon

100+ scales at the tip of your finger.

Superb! ★★★★★

Finally! The perfect scale app! Very thoughtfully and simply organized user interface. Not loaded with special features. But hard to imagine finding a better delivery system. I will use this to workout on both piano and bass.

A unique and incredible teaching tool! ★★★★★

I lecture in music, recording and composition at a large institution (dBs Music, Plymouth, UK) in both FE and HE sectors and Patrick's apps are just incredible for teaching with. There are plenty of coders writing music apps in the App Store but his show the unique musical insights only an expert and practicing musician would have. Amazing stuff. Amazing value. You will turn to these apps time and time again. Buy.

Transpose with a touch, to any root note, in treble, alto, tenor or bass clef. Simply touch and drag up and down on the staff to select the root note, slide right for sharp, left for flat, or slide up and down on the right or left of the screen for constant sharps and flats.

Use the mute button to transpose the scale without hearing the root note.

Transpositions for Ab, Eb, Bb, F, G, D, A, and E instruments. Play along with the written notes. It automatically plays your transposed pitch with you. (and shows it on the piano)

See the scale notated correctly, with double sharps and flats as needed. For example, Gb minor has a B double flat, not an A.

Have the scale played in a wide variety of ways.

Choose from 13 rhythmic patterns.

Select 0, 2, or 4 beat count-off before the scale starts to playback.

Choose a range to play, from one to five octaves.

Select if you want it to loop continuously, or play through just once.

Choose if you want the scale played forward and backward (up and down), or just forward.

Select if you want the top and/or bottom notes repeated (with a pause between repetitions).

Listen and watch the piano keys highlight as it plays up and down the keyboard.

The musical notation is written in black and white, or in chalk on a chalkboard.
